HCC’s 60th Anniversary Plaque Unveiling

On Wednesday 31 October 2018, Hawthorn Community Chest (HCC) and guests celebrated the unveiling of a plaque commemorating HCC’s 60th anniversary.  The plaque is situated in the gardens of the Hawthorn Community Precinct, 584 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn.

We were delighted to have the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, the Treasurer of Australia and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party and Member for Kooyong in his capacity as Patron officiating, and joining 13 year old Charlotte Gillon, whose family have a long history with HCC, unveiling the plaque.

Also in attendance was another of HCC’s Patron’s, John Pesutto, Member for Hawthorn and Shadow Attorney General, HCC President Andrew Tait and HCC Committee members, including Life Governors, Jane Nathan and Terry Pacini, who have been on the Committee for 30 and 25 years respectively.  Other Life Governors in attendance were Angela Rodd and Ken McNamara.  Representatives from the local care organisations with whom HCC works, those who have had an historical connection to the charity, and members of HCC’s newest initiative – the HCC Business Supporter Program also attended.
