On 23 September 2018 HCC’s President Andrew Tait and Committee members Jane Nathan and Kia Sadler attended the Official Opening of Belmore School’s renovated Hydrotherapy Pool.
Our Committee members were invited to attend the final school Assembly for term 3 and our President, Andrew Tait, was asked to officially open the pool by cutting the ribbon. This was a casual and fun affair before the students departed for home.
Inspecting the newly renovated pool to pre-renovation site inspections and photos when assessing the grant request, we were thrilled to see the repair and renovation work on the pool looks excellent. We watched a collage of photos of students enjoying the pool and the joy, happiness and relaxation evident on their faces reinforced to HCC the importance of the pool, not just for the medical benefits but for the moment it provides many of the students to be unrestricted and to float freely.
It is such a pleasure for Hawthorn Community Chest to be able to assist a school like Belmore and see how the funds we raise make a real difference to the lives and development of their students.
